"We rented an old vineyard three years ago. It's a vineyard officially named "Fürstliches Prädium". Those parcels have been made available for vignerons after World War II, some time in the early 1950s. Before the land was owned by an aristocratic family. The vineyard is part of Gols but it's very far away from the town itself. So when people went working there on their horse carriages they said: It's so far away that you could just as well go to Korea (probably because it was the time of the Korea war).
In any case the vineyard has been only called Koreaa ever since by all vignerons in Gols, so for more than 60 years.
When we rented the vineyard we decided to use this nickname for the wine we made from there. It's a "Gemischter Satz" of many different grape varieties, mainly Grüner Veltliner and Scheurebe. We found an artist who painted that naïve Korea style picture for us."
