Domaine Philippe Tessier

Domaine Philippe Tessierin viinitila sijaitsee Chevernyn alueella Loiren laaksossa ja talo tuottaa AOC Cheverny ja AOC Cour-Cheverny (= vain Romorantin-lajiketta) luokiteltuja viinejä. Yhteensä Tessier viljelee luomumenetelmin (Ecocert-sertifioitu vuonna 1998) n. 23 hehtaaria Loiren valkoisia ja punaisia lajikkeita: Chardonnay, Orbois, Romorantin, Pinot Noir, Gamay, Cot ja Cabernet Franc. Tessierin tarhojen mikroympäristöön vaikuttaa suuresti Cheveryn, Chambordin ja Solognen suuret metsät. Philippen isä perusti viinitalon vuonna 1961 ja Philippe itse on pyörittänyt perhetilaa jo vuodesta 1981 eteenpäin.

Philippe kiteyttää viininviljely- ja viininvalmistusfilosofiansa näillä sanoilla: "We practice and promote small farm viticulture that is artisanal, honest and sincere. A wine should be the expression of the place from which it comes. It should reflect the climatic conditions of the year, as well as a little of the vigneron who produces it, while also respecting the life of the soil and the environment. It must give pleasure but it must also be sound and healthy, alive and disgestible...it should be a natural wine!"
